Reflect and Project

One full calendar year has gone by, and for the last few years I have tried to reflect and project during this time of year. Reflect on the previous year to better project into the next. There wasn't any formal way to do this, just internal reflection. This will be the first year with a template so that it can be easily replicated and shared.

There are so many areas where we reflect and project in our professional lives but often neglect in our personal lives. Any business will do this annually, quarterly, and even weekly. We do this in education when it comes to student growth and data. But what does it look like in our personal lives?

Life happens so fast, and this is a method to slow it down and be a bit more intentional with our time. This isn’t meant to make anyone feel bad about their 2025 year, but rather to build a better 2026 year. Creating anything great doesn’t happen by chance. Companies grow by reflecting on what worked and what didn’t, creating a plan to change it, and executing. It’s a cycle that never ends.

I want this newsletter to be less reading and more active for you because I feel it will be far more valuable than hearing about my reflection and projection of 2025 and 2026. I’ve never actually written this out because I’ve only done it internally, but here is the Reflect and Project Chart I made and will be filling out this year! I truly hope it helps and makes 2026 the best year yet for you!
